WHEN:

American Fork Junior High School, 1120 North 20 West

CATAGORIES:
A. Elementary (ages 11 and under)
B. Junior (ages 12 through 14)
C. Senior (ages 15 through 18)

ELIGIBILITY:
All instrumental players and vocalists may audition, but former winners must wait until they are in the next age level to audition again. Contestants will perform in their appropriate age level only.

REPERTOIRE:
Instrumentalists should perform a movement from a standard concerto or solo with orchestral accompaniment. Vocalists may sing a standard aria or solo for voice and orchestra (no "pop" songs!). Two pianos will be available. Pianists may perform unaccompanied, but all other contestants should perform with an accompanist.

Each contestant will be allowed 6 minutes; please make necessary cuts to fit this time.

Orchestral scores and parts must be readily available through domestic publishers.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Winners will be selected according to performance standards. The judges may declare no winner in a specific age level if performances do not meet the desired standard. Programming will be a consideration in the judging decision. The judges' decision will be final.
The Youth Concert is April 29, 2013.

PROCEDURES:
An audition fee of $15 will be charged for each applicant. An application form must be filled out and returned with the fee by Monday, January 14, 2013. Application forms may be obtained from teachers, Web site www.americanforksymphony.org, or Maxine Steele. Teachers may duplicate this form as needed.

Each contestant will receive an audition time by mail by Monday, January 21, 2013. Audition schedules will be available to teachers at that time also.
